Right, that's the basic starting info. Feel free to make offers for other manager's players, particularly the ones you think they might not need.
U5 David Speedie is being auctioned to the highest bidder. Please bet in minimum increments of £5000 for official auctions. (this should hopefully avoid £10001, £10002, £10003 tedium) The matches listed above will take place at 2200 on thursday, when day 2 will begin. You should declare your team selection by that deadline. If you don't, I'll automatically play your strongest team anyway so it's no biggie, but sometimes you have options and it's better to decide yourself. Remember that your utility players can replace outfield players, but not your goalkeeper (where he counts as a one star player) |

the money was changed by the first board turns, it was luck that ste ended with more and chel with less
As for players, you got what the computer gave you ![]() Perhaps if we ever play again, I'll manually tweak them to make everybody equal. |

He played for the Spuds, as did most of his immediate family. Make it Jimmy Case and 30k and you have a deal.

Jimmy Case? Jimmy Case is like family round these parts. Jimmy Case AND 30k? You're breaking my heart man. I'd consider the deal for Jimmy Case and 15k though. I mean I'm the one who's gonna have to speak to his ma.

I just re-read the moon on a stick post. I thought nominal value was 10k per star. I thought I was paying over the odds.
I also thought I could sell players (to the bank) at any time. Mistakes are piling up in me 'ead. ooh look at me I'm on a mobile device |

That gives us 35 squares in total. Is that correct? Does the start count as a square on the board (i.e. just another Sunday where nothing happens)? I assume it does.
Manager's Luck - 6 Sponsorship - 4 50% Auction - 3 Selection Problems - 6 Wages - 4 Auction - 4 Bank Finance - 4 Sunday - 3 Crisis - 1 As such the crisis square isn't to be as feared as much as I initially had (knowing my luck that means I'll land on it straight away now). £50k fine and selling your top player in a position for 75% of their value effectively means a 3 star player being sold. That means landing on crisis = Losing a 3 star player and a £5k fine. You've also got a 1 in 6, or approximately 17%, chance of landing on it each turn around the board.

Also I think I'm correct in saying that on every move you have a 1/6 chance of a "neutral" result (i.e. Manager's luck), a 2 / 6 chance of something bad happening, and a 3 / 6 chance of something good. There are exceptions though.
Around the Crisis point it becomes a 3 / 6 chance of something bad happening at the expense of something good (which drops to 2 / 6). Around the Start square the odds briefly increase to a 4 / 6 chance of something good happening at the expense of something bad (which drops to 1 / 6). Too much analysis?! Maybe so. But I like to know what I'm dealing with.

The lower the number beside their name the better they are. You've actually got a really bad squad. I'm feeling sorry for you though so I'd be willing to swap some players to even it up. Just 'cause it's you likes.

By the way 1-X, do you get Gate money if you're playing away i.e. do you get money every "week" or is it just from your home games?

Right. So the lower the number the better the player?
I'm in original Football Manager mode here were 5 stars is better than 1 ![]() In that case (j), Rush's initial offer.... Can you just clarify 1-X which is best.

I cannot tell a lie, Rush was attempting to mislead Ste earlier in the thread. As I'm sure it states in the full rules in the MoaS thread, more stars are better.
Current best offer for U5 David Speedie is 70k from Ste. I'm sure you all realise you can't afford to let him win this auction ![]() |

rather than say a definite time (as someone could post a bid 5 seconds before it) I'll post something earlier in the evening like "if there are no more bids in the next hour, the auction will close". (Ideally every manager would post that they weren't prepared to bid any higher so we can be sure the auction is over) if managers don't think they'll be online they can PM me with bidding instructions for use in their absence |
