Old games (Transport Tycoon etc etc)

Anyone know any sites that lets me download old pc games for free? By old I mean games such as Transport Tycoon (Deluxe), Indiana Jones, Keen, Monkey Island and so on.

I remember a site I used to download such games from, but my brain must have blocked the site as I can't remember it anymore

Transport Tycoon dosn't work terribly well on XP or 2000 (but this has been patched). If you were wanting to play it, I would highly recommend downloading OpenTTD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenTTD

You'll still have to download the original game to get the graphics files. It can be found here: http://isohunt.com/torrents/?ihq=transport+tycoon

And here is the feature list: http://www.openttd.org/about.php

It is pretty much a perfect port of the original game, with a few extra additions that really add functionality to the game

I'd say its a marginal improvement on the original AI. At the very least it dosn't tend to build tracks that go a million miles in the wrong direction, or level entire mountainsides where a tunnel would have sufficed.

Personally I'm not a big fan of the lock/canal system for ships. I was happier using ships just on coastal cities. Now you can just plow a canal between land locked cities or factories, and run ships between them. Which is a little unreal.

err... no it isn't. It's what they did before trains were invented.

Also you might want to try The Home of The Underdogs (google it, it's url seems to keep changing)

In the context of the game, it really is. I'm not aware of any modern land locked canal systems that allow oil tankers or container ships to pass between cities.

It isn't likely to be on the Underdog's as it is still subject to copyright and DCMA restrictions afaik.
