We won 1-2 against Iceland in Reykjavik tonight Was a terrible match, but matches against Iceland are never easy for anyone, so I'm happy enough. First time in 23 years (I think) we beat Iceland in a counting game. Moa scored his first national team goal and more surprisingly; Hangeland did too! Couldn't believe Hangeland hadn't score earlier.

More importantly; we're leading the group at the moment after Portugal fucked up big time at home against Cyprus with a 4-4 (wtf)

edit: and, lulz, if we beat Portugal on Tuesday we'll be 5 points ahead of them after only two games Ain't gonna happen though.

Also, his team mates were shite. For some reason, EVERYTHING had to happen on our left side with Riise and Gamst and they did nothing good with the ball for the most part beside fumbling it away. Barely anything happened on our right side because of that fucktardery. When Huseklepp DID get the ball however, he drew past a man and created the biggest chance in the match so far.

He wasn't bad, he just weren't used. So it was ok to take him off the pitch, but he was taken off just few seconds after we took the lead. That's when he should have been put on top instead of cocking about on the side - he'd have trashed the room Iceland left behind when hunting an equalizer. But I guess Drillo had already handed in the "sub form" when the goal was scored, so there was no way back.

He had retired before accepting this job and only took it after the whole country had shouted for it. He agreed to coach the team until we found a replacement and that replacement (Solbakken) doesn't take over until after EC 2012.

So we still have at least two years of magic left No doubt one of the finest national team coaches there is when thinking about the preconditions of the team.

He wouldn't have touched the job even if it was thrown after him

Imagine his reactions when the board asks him to wear an elegant suit on match day instead of a training suit and jogging shoes (or his trademark rain boots!).

No, he has stopped wearing them. Jogging shoes only now. Too bad - his boots were awesome. I remember I used to pull down the top of my rain boots in the same manner he did when I was a kid

Didn't watch the England game (or any international football match since, outside the big tournaments, they're shit), but the initial picture r.e: Dawson's injury makes me squirm a bit cause of the angle that his leg has taken!

Is it a knee injury? Looks more like an ankle injury!

his ankle might be a little sprained but its the way the angle of his leg will have applied leverage on his knee that will be the real problem

Anyone know how hard it is to get tickets to PL matches at WHL, Stamford Bridge and Emirates? I want to go to London with my cousin in November, and we're really keen to watch at least two games during the weekend we are there. Unfortunately no championship teams play in London on any of the Fridays so we are left with a Fulham or West Ham game on the Saturday(shouldn't be a problem to get tickets) and one of these stadiums on the sunday. So, anyone?

Both WH and Fulham appear to have tickets on line for general public for most up and coming matches so it shouldn't be a problem as long as their not playing Man U for example, then it could be a bit of a scramble when released.

I know it won't be a problem for those two clubs(they are meeting shit clubs as it is, except Fulham vs Villa on the 6th), and I could always go to a championship game on the Saturday, the problem is the Sunday when only Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea have home games. I have no idea if matches like Arsenal vs Newcastle and Chelsea vs Sunderland tend to be 'impossible' to get tickets for.

edit: Fulham havea home game vs man city but it's the one weekend I can't go

we've got blackburn and sunderland at home in november, so if you're there for them they could be do-able. otherwise it's bremen or liverpool and no chance for either.

basically you can generally get tickets to any of arsenal, chelsea or spurs playing a shit team as long as it's a/ not a derby b/ you get to buying them when they go on general sale asap

I'd expect all tickets to go by the time it gets to red members. Only games that tend to get to public availability are internation friendlies, emirates cup, and some early domestic cup rounds.

Bummer. I would except Spurs and Chelsea to be easier to get tickets to than Arsenal though. Especially now that the CL starts and those matches are bigger and more interesting.

The Sunderland match is on a Tuesday though, the same day as West Ham play (I'd prefer Upton Park to WHL tbh) and getting a West Ham tickets shouldn't be too hard. Guess I have to find some Chelsea fan to answer what chance I have of getting a ticket to Chelsea vs Sunderland on the 14th.

I suppose going to London from the 5th to the 10th is a possibility, Fulham vs Villa on the Saturday and then one of the two games mentioned above on the 9th.

Have to say I think it's dumb that all the top tiers of english football play their games at the same dates, they should take us tourists into consideration!

Fulham is a lovely ground and a good day out. One word of warning is that apart from at the ground there is no-where for away fans to have a beer before the game apart from the Eight Bells near Putney Bridge tube (which is always rammed) and no-where afterwards, they want everyone moved on. So basically unless you want to walk over the bridge to Putney for a drink, go back to central London right away.

Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal regularly sell out, so I'd just keep watching their sites and hope something comes up. Sunderland for e.g. could well send back a chunk of their allocation if their fans are slightly disgruntled and don't take them up, which gives you the chance to swoop in for tickets.
