| Foxystoat? |
Foxystoat is an online community founded in 2005 to create a place with a laissez faire attitude where people can share stories, tell a joke, or ask questions about pretty much anything. The main feature of the community is a largely public forum with places to discuss games, music, sports, or pretty much anything. Places to tell jokes, and places for serious discussions. Originally named Plastic Brilliance, a need for a new name arose in 2008. After lots of debate the name Foxystoat was chosen. |
| Forum Rules |
We sincerely hope we don't need any rules, however we do have a set of guidelines. Generally we want you to have fun and respect your fellow users. Despite the lack of rules, we reserve the right to ban anyone who does not adhere to our guidelines, or who we believe has malicious intent to disrupt the smooth running of the site. The above is valid for all sections of the site. Certain areas may have additional guidelines. Please see the appropriate section of the FAQ for these additional guidelines. If you are unsure about what is seen as acceptable behaviour on a forum, feel free to read up on netiquette, or contact one of the moderators/administrators. |
| Guidelines for Posting Images |
Obviously, adult images in the restricted access forum are acceptable. It's common sense not to go there at work/uni/school etc. Threads there needn't be tagged [NSFW] as you should assume none of them are safe. If an image is publicly hosted (imageshack, photobucket, your own webspace etc) there is no need to unparse the link. *To do this, go advanced and uncheck the "automatically parse links" tickbox under the post. You may also need to edit out the [url] tags if the board has already added them. Avatars are visible in all forums so anything non-worksafe is not allowed. If in doubt, we recommend you ask a moderator/admin before posting. Users are reminded that by clicking "quick links" at the top of the page, and then "edit options", they can turn off the display of avatars and/or images if they are considered inappropriate for your current location. |
| Serious Discussions |
The Serious Discussions forum (SD) is intended to be a place with higher standards than the rest of the board. As a place for serious discussions, we do not allow personal insults on this forum, and swearing in general is discouraged. Topics that are not suitable for this forum, or posts that are off-topic will be moderated. The posts or threads will be either edited, moved, or deleted, as the admin/mod sees fit. Please read the following thread for more information or to discuss the SD guidelines: SD rules
A special kind of thread on SD are the so called policy threads. |
| Not Safe For Work, or Home, or Anywhere |
We don't intend for NSFW to just to be a porn forum. It's now the one place you have complete freedom to post absolutely anything (legal). It's obviously not a forum you should visit in public/at work/school etc (unless you work in a cool place like Minty). Basically any thread that you'd make elsewhere that would have required a NSFW tag in the title should now ideally be posted there instead. (If you think it's beneficial to post a nsfw pic in a thread on another part of the forum, never use [img] tags, just post it as a link with :nsfw: smileys before and after it, or better still, use the [spoiler] tag to hide it until clicked and clearly indicate the nature of the content in accompanying text.) Access to the NSFW forum is limited. Members who are not at least 18 years old, or who have made no, or only a few posts will not be allowed in. If you do not fail to match these requirements, you can apply to join the NSFW group. To do that click the link below: It's straightforward* and painless, and something you only have to do once. You need to click the little round "join group" button on the right, before clicking the main "join group" button beneath. Then you have a short wait until we notice you've asked, and process your request. *though if do you get stuck/confused, just PM an admin or Robin and they'll sort it out for you :) |

Spam is a big problem for a lot of email services these days. Unfortunately the measures put into place to prevent spam sometimes also filter out wanted mails.
